Orka Sunlife Resort & Spa is a family-friendly hotel on the outskirts of the Turkish resort of Hisaronu. The town is on a mountain plateau, a short drive from the beach resort of Oludeniz on the Mediterranean coast. The centre of Hisaronu¸ is a short walk away and has plenty of cafes, bars and restaurants, as well as gift shops and a weekly market. In the evening the resort comes alive with music, dancing and nightclubs open until dawn. The hotel has five swimming pools, including a kids’ pool, a water slide pool and a heated indoor pool. If you want to keep up with your fitness routine during your stay, you can work out in the gym. For some downtime, there’s a spa offering a Turkish bath, sauna and massage treatments. During the day you can join in with aquaerobics in the pool, burn off some energy playing football or basketball, or enjoy a more leisurely game of boules in the hotel’s grounds. For dining, Orka Sunlife Resort & Spa has a buffet restaurant and three a la carte restaurants, as well as a snack bar and a patisserie. There are four bars, one of which by the pool. Orka Sunlife Resort & Spa is 1km from the centre of Hisaronu¸ and 2.5km from the beach at Oludeniz. Oludeniz is famous for its Blue Lagoon, which lies behind the main horseshoe-shaped sandy beach. The lagoon is a popular place for diving and snorkelling, and has been designated a national park. You might even catch a glimpse of a rare loggerhead turtle here. In the evenings, Oludeniz has a laid-back nightlife scene, as well as rooftop restaurants serving traditional Turkish food. Within driving distance of Hisaronu¸ is the resort of Fethiye, with twisting backstreets full of shops, many selling locally made carpets and crafts, and a bustling weekly market. There are open-air cafes selling fragrant Turkish coffee and restaurants serving mezze and kebabs. History lovers might enjoy visiting the Tomb of Amyntas, a series of Lycian rock tombs carved into the hillside above Fethiye. There’s also the remains of a medieval castle and a Roman amphitheatre to explore.
The buffet restaurant is open for breakfast, late breakfast, lunch and dinner, and offers themed nights such as Tex-Mex and Sunday Roast. A kids’ buffet has familiar favourites. The three a la carte restaurants serve Chinese, Turkish and Italian food. The lobby bar is open 24 hours a day.
There’s a kids’ pool and playground. The hotel-run kids’ club includes activities such as face-painting, games and arts and crafts. There’s also a mini disco.
